# Planned and performed values

Your plan sets a target; logged reps and load record your strength work.
Planned and performed values can differ without either being wrong. Strength
history does not use planned reps or load to fill missing logged values.

## Targets, results, and estimates

**Planned values** describe intended work, such as a duration, distance, rep
count, or load. They remain prescriptions, not proof that you performed them.

**Performed values** describe recorded results. For strength work, that
includes the reps and load you log. Imported workouts contain facts read from
Apple Health rather than targets copied from your schedule.

**Estimates** help you plan, but they are not measurements. For example, the
strength builder estimates workout duration from the sets and rest periods.
That estimate is not your recorded training time.

## Compare the work without changing its meaning

If you plan eight reps and log six, the target remains eight and the result
is six. Recording reps without a load does not establish that you lifted the
planned load.

Strength-set duration and distance shown in history can retain the targets
you entered. They do not confirm how long or how far you actually worked.

Open a recorded workout on its date in **Plan** to review its results and
source. In **Progress**, **Weekly Momentum** compares scheduled workouts with
recorded completion and keeps additional training separate.

Momentum-recorded workouts and imported Apple Health workouts retain distinct
sources. An import counts toward a scheduled workout only when Momentum has a
stable link to that workout. An unlinked import remains separate history.

## What a missing value means

**Completed** describes the workout's outcome; it does not supply missing
distance, load, or heart-rate data. History can omit a missing result, while
Progress can show that a required fact is unavailable.

Missing is not zero. Progress can report no training recorded for a period,
but a workout with no recorded distance does not establish a distance of zero.
Not every workout contains every metric.
