# Consumer health data privacy policy

Some US state laws, including Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada's
consumer health data law, and Connecticut's data privacy law, give you specific
rights over health-related personal data. This policy explains how Momentum
handles that data. It supplements our [privacy policy](privacy.md).

## Who we are and what this covers

**Effective date: September 30, 2026.**

Atlas Apps LLC operates Momentum. Our address is 34391 Tom Dr, Chesterfield,
MI 48047, USA.

This policy covers consumer health data that Momentum collects through the
Momentum apps for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, and through
momentum.atlasapps.us. Consumer health data means personal data linked or
reasonably linkable to you that identifies your past, present, or future
physical health status. For Momentum, that is mostly fitness and workout data.

We do not sell consumer health data, use it for targeted advertising, or use
Apple Health data for advertising.

## Consumer health data we collect and why

### Categories and sources

| Category | Source | Why we use it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Apple Health workouts and metrics, including heart rate, routes, and Activity rings | Apple Health, with your permission | Show your training history, progress, and Activity ring progress on your device. |
| Live workout metrics, such as heart rate, during an Apple Watch workout | Your Apple Watch, with your permission | Show your workout as it happens and save completed strength workouts to Apple Health. |
| Workouts and training history in your account, including imported workout results and their source device | You and your device, when you use account cloud sync with Pro or Coach access | Save your training to your account and keep it up to date on your devices. |
| Coach messages and attachments that describe your health, body, or training | You, when you use Coach | Generate the responses you ask for. |
| Workout check-in decisions, such as whether a finished workout matched your plan | Workouts uploaded to your account, when you turn on workout check-ins | Decide whether a check-in would help, then write it. |
| Training-derived information and recommendations, such as planned-workout matches, training trends, strength progression recommendations, check-in decisions, and Coach recommendations | Created by Momentum from the data above | Show your progress and provide progression, Coach, and workout check-ins. |
| Momentum Labs experimental data, which may include images, video, movement or sensor measurements, workout information, or other data described when you enroll | You, if you enroll in a Momentum Labs experiment and give separate cloud consent | Run that experiment. Each experiment identifies the data it collects, why, who receives it, and how long it is kept before you consent. |

Apple Health routes, raw samples, and query anchors stay on your device.
Momentum does not upload them to your account.

We collect consumer health data only to provide the features you request and
operate them. Product Analytics and app diagnostics do not contain Health
values or workout details. We use Apple Health data only for Momentum's health
and fitness features, never for advertising or general analytics, and our
purchase and email providers do not receive it.

### Consent

Momentum asks for your permission before it reads from or writes to Apple
Health. You choose the Health data types you allow. Health permissions are
separate from Momentum's own consents. Coach, workout check-ins,
account cloud sync, connected AI assistants, and Momentum Labs are features you
turn on yourself. Each asks for your consent for that feature, explains the
data it uses and who receives it, and sends consumer health data only after
you agree. You authorize each connected AI assistant separately and choose the
access it gets.

## Who receives consumer health data

We share consumer health data with processors that act on our behalf to
provide Momentum, with Apple as part of features you use, and with apps you
direct us to share with.

| Recipient | Role | What they receive | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Microsoft Azure | Processor | Account data, including synced training data and Coach conversations | Host Momentum's servers, database, and private file storage in East US 2, United States. |
| OpenAI | Processor | Coach messages, attachments, and relevant training context, such as plans, exercises, logged sets, and summaries of workouts imported from Apple Health (activity type, start and end times, duration, distance, and recording app). It does not receive heart rate, energy, Activity rings, body measurements, routes, or raw samples from Apple Health. | Generate Coach responses and workout check-in messages. |
| TypeSafe AI | Processor | Compact summaries of workouts you finish, such as activity, duration, distance, effort, heart rate and heart rate zones, energy, set counts, planned-workout match, and recent training totals | Decide whether a workout check-in is worth sending, when you turn on workout check-ins. |
| Apple | Platform provider | Strength workouts you save to Apple Health, and the content of notifications Momentum sends you, such as Coach alerts | Store your Health records in Apple Health under your control and deliver notifications. |
| AI assistant apps you connect | Shared at your direction | Training data within the access you grant, which can include summaries of workouts imported from Apple Health | Act on your request in that app. |

RevenueCat and Resend are processors for purchase and account email data. They
do not receive consumer health data. We do not share consumer health data
with affiliates.

## Your rights and how to use them

### Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can:

- confirm whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data;
- access your consumer health data;
- get a list of the third parties and affiliates that receive it, with their
  contact information;
- access inferences we create from it;
- withdraw your consent; and
- delete your consumer health data.

### Access and deletion

In the app, open **Settings > Account > Your Data** to export or delete your
account data. The account portal also has a **Privacy** section for exports
and deletion. Both require you to sign in. They do not require a paid
subscription.

Account deletion permanently removes consumer health data from your Momentum
account. It does not remove records in Apple Health. Use the Health app to
manage those records. When required by applicable law, we notify processors
and other recipients of applicable deletion requests and require them to
delete the relevant data.

### Withdraw consent

You can stop Momentum from collecting or sharing consumer health data at any
time:

- revoke Momentum's Apple Health access in iOS Settings;
- turn off workout check-ins in Coach;
- stop sending Coach messages;
- remove connected AI assistants in **Connected apps** in your account; and
- withdraw cloud consent for a Momentum Labs experiment.

Withdrawing consent stops new collection. It does not delete data already in
your account. To delete that data, delete your account. When the law requires
it, we send your withdrawal to processors and other recipients.

### Other requests

Email **support@atlasapps.us** to confirm what we hold, get the list of
recipients, or make any other request. To protect your data, we verify
requests by asking you to sign in to your account, and we may ask you to sign
in again before sensitive actions. For email requests, we send a secure link
to your account email address. We ask only for the information we need to
verify you and do not require a government ID unless no other method works.

We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we tell you why and respond
within another 45 days. We do not charge for requests.

### Appeal a decision

If we decline your request, you can appeal. Email **support@atlasapps.us** with
the subject **Consumer health data appeal** within a reasonable time after our
decision. Tell us which decision you are appealing and why.

We respond to appeals in writing within 45 days and explain what we did and
why. If we deny your appeal, you can contact your state attorney general:

- Washington: Washington State Office of the Attorney General, atg.wa.gov
- Nevada: Nevada Office of the Attorney General, ag.nv.gov
- Connecticut: Connecticut Office of the Attorney General, portal.ct.gov/ag

## How long we keep consumer health data

We keep consumer health data in your account while your account exists, unless
you delete it sooner. Coach attachments are deleted 90 days after upload.

Production database backups currently roll off after seven days. Deleting data
from the live database does not immediately remove it from a backup. Some
backup copies may remain temporarily where permitted by law. If a backup is
restored, we reapply applicable deletion requests.

## How we protect consumer health data

Momentum uses TLS for production network connections and Apple's Keychain for
app account credentials. We limit access to consumer health data to the people
and services that need it to run Momentum. These protections reduce risk but
cannot guarantee that data will never be accessed or disclosed without
authorization.

## Minors

You must be at least 18 years old to use Momentum. Momentum is not directed to
anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with consumer
health data, contact support@atlasapps.us.

## Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page and change the effective date. If a change
affects how we collect or share consumer health data, we will ask for your
consent where the law requires it.
