# Privacy policy

Atlas Apps LLC uses personal data to run Momentum, support your training, and
maintain the service. This policy explains what stays on your device, what
leaves it, who processes that data, and how you can control it.

## Who we are and what this covers

**Effective date: September 23, 2026.**

Atlas Apps LLC is the controller responsible for the processing described here.
Our address is 34391 Tom Dr, Chesterfield, MI 48047, USA.

This policy covers the Momentum apps for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, and
momentum.atlasapps.us, including the account portal and documentation. Some
processing depends on the features you use and the services enabled for your
build. Describing a data practice here does not mean that every feature is
available to everyone.

We do not sell personal data, use it for targeted advertising, or use Apple
Health data for advertising. Momentum has no advertising SDKs, does not access
Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not request App Tracking
Transparency permission to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

## What we collect and why

### Accounts and local training

Local training works without a Momentum account. When you use an account, we
process the identifiers and credentials needed to sign you in and protect
access. Momentum supports **Sign in with Apple**, **email and password**, and
**passkeys**. Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your
personal email address. We store password hashes, not plaintext passwords.
For passkeys, we store public credentials and their use information, not your
passkey's private key.

### Training data and account cloud sync

When you are signed in with Pro or Coach access and use account cloud sync,
Momentum transfers your training plans, schedules, workouts, and history to
your account. This includes imported Apple Health workout journals, results,
and information about their source and recording device.

Apple Health routes, raw samples, and query anchors used to track imports stay
on your device; account cloud sync does not upload them. An account export
does not include unsent local data or these device-only Health records.

### Apple Health

With your permission, Momentum reads Activity rings to show Move, Exercise,
and Stand progress, reads workout data to display imported history and metrics,
and uses live workout metrics on Apple Watch. The Watch app can save completed
Momentum strength workouts to Apple Health.

You choose the Health permissions you grant and can change them in iOS
Settings. We never sell Apple Health data or use it for advertising.
Removing Health permission does not by itself delete data already imported or
uploaded to your Momentum account.

### Coach conversations

If you use Coach where it is enabled, we send your messages and relevant
training context to OpenAI to generate responses. Momentum stores
conversations and messages with your account. Do not include information in a
message that you do not want processed for that purpose.

### Product analytics

Product Analytics starts enabled for each account profile. It records
pseudonymous events about feature use, with app/build version, platform, and
event timing, to help us understand how people use Momentum. These events are
not linked to your account or billing identity and do not contain workout
details, Health values, email addresses, or Coach messages.

The preference and analytics identity are separate for each account profile.
Turning collection off clears queued events and requests deletion of that
profile's product events. Deletion retries if the server cannot be reached.
Raw events expire after 90 days. A minimal deletion record prevents delayed
events from restoring deleted data.

### Diagnostics and service operation

Momentum uses Apple's MetricKit and operational telemetry to diagnose crashes,
measure performance, and maintain reliability and security. This can include
crash, performance, app/device, and technical request information.
App diagnostics use a separate installation identity, not a link to your
Momentum account. They are distinct from Product Analytics; turning Product
Analytics off does not turn all operational diagnostics off.

Account services also keep account-linked session, authentication, and privacy
request records needed to operate and protect your account.

### Feedback

When you send feedback, we receive your message and any contact email you
choose to provide. You can choose to include app diagnostics after reviewing
their preview. The generated diagnostic attachment excludes workout and
Health data; anything you type into the message is still part of your feedback.
Feedback requests also include a submission identifier and a device identifier
to handle delivery and abuse prevention.

In-app feedback delivery depends on service availability. If it is unavailable,
your draft stays on the device and you can email us instead.

### Purchases

Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat processes purchase and
entitlement status linked to a Momentum-assigned customer identifier so we can
provide subscription access. Momentum does not receive your payment card
details.

### Experimental capture

Momentum Labs is experimental, not a generally available feature. An experiment
requires separate enrollment and consent before capture. Its consent explains
the capture involved. Uploading eligible experimental artifacts also requires
separate cloud consent; enrolling alone does not authorize cloud uploads.

### Website cookies

The account portal uses essential cookies to maintain your signed-in session,
protect account requests, and complete Sign in with Apple. Blocking these
cookies can prevent sign-in or account actions. The documentation site does
not set analytics cookies or run a web analytics tracker. Because the portal
and docs share an origin, your browser may send existing essential portal
cookies when you visit documentation.

## Services that process data for Momentum

We use the following providers for specific purposes:

| Provider | Data and purpose |
| --- | --- |
| Apple | Sign-in information, Health permissions and records under your control, and App Store purchases. |
| Microsoft Azure | Momentum's server hosting, account database, private file storage, and operational monitoring. Our production infrastructure is in East US 2, United States. |
| OpenAI | Coach messages and relevant training context to generate responses when you use Coach. |
| RevenueCat | Customer identifiers, purchase information, and entitlement status to manage subscription access. |
| Resend | Recipient email addresses and account email content, including verification and password-reset links, to deliver account email. |

Deleting records from Momentum does not establish that every provider has
deleted its own records. Apple Health records and App Store purchases remain
under Apple's controls. Contact us about questions involving provider-held
data.

## Your choices

- **Use local training without an account.** Local-only training does not
require account cloud sync. Product Analytics has its own preference.
- **Export or delete account data.** In the app, the controls are in
**Settings > Account > Your Data**. The account portal also has a
**Privacy** section for exports and deletion. These actions require
authentication, may ask you to sign in again, and do not require an active
paid subscription. If a service is unavailable, contact us.
- **Understand deletion.** When accepted, deletion revokes account sessions
and blocks further account use while cloud-data deletion proceeds. You cannot
cancel accepted deletion or restore the deleted account. When the app receives
confirmed acceptance, it removes that account's local profile on that device,
including pending local work. An account export does not preserve unsent data.
Deletion is not an instant erasure of every copy. It does not cancel an App Store
subscription, remove Apple Health records, recall exports you downloaded,
or remotely erase offline devices. Cancel subscriptions separately through
Apple. Other devices must reconnect and observe account access loss before
  local account-data removal.
- **Sign out.** Signing out removes active credentials from use and retains
the inactive account profile and pending local work. It does not delete the
account or its cloud data. If the server is unreachable, session revocation
  remains pending for retry.
- **Control Product Analytics.** Open **Settings > About Momentum > Privacy >
Product Analytics** to turn collection off or request deletion of product
analytics data. This is separate from account deletion.
- **Change Health permissions.** Use iOS Settings to review or revoke
  Momentum's Apple Health access.
- **Contact us.** Ask about access, correction, deletion, or other privacy
  choices at support@atlasapps.us.

## How long we keep data

We keep account data while your account exists, unless you remove it sooner.
Account deletion removes cloud data through the deletion process described
above, rather than erasing all stores at once.

Production database backups currently have a seven-day retention setting.
Backup copies roll off on that schedule; deletion from the live database does
not immediately erase a backup. This is not a seven-day promise for every
provider or operational record.

Export archives and their download access expire. Download an export while it
is available; a copy you save yourself remains under your control. Raw Product
Analytics events expire after 90 days, or are removed through the separate
analytics-deletion control.

Some operational records, including deletion receipts, abuse-prevention
records, diagnostics, and provider-held records, have separate retention
boundaries. Account deletion does not automatically remove unlinked app
diagnostics or product analytics. Contact us for questions about a specific
record; we do not promise a single deletion deadline for all data.

## Security and international processing

Momentum uses TLS for production network connections and Apple's Keychain for
app account credentials. These protections reduce risk but cannot guarantee
that data will never be accessed, lost, or disclosed without authorization.

We operate in the United States and use US-hosted production infrastructure.
If you use Momentum from another country, your data may be transferred to and
processed in the United States and in countries where our providers operate.
Privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Contact us with questions
about international processing or the protections applicable to your data.

## Children

Momentum is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13
has provided us with personal data, contact support@atlasapps.us so we can
address it.

## Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page and change the effective date. Review this
