# Manage Progress widgets

Keep the training facts you use most easy to find. Open **Progress** to add
or arrange its cards, change their size, or adjust the settings of a
**Running** or **Strength** widget.

## Start with your dashboard

Start with at least one Progress widget on your dashboard so you can open its
menu. A Progress widget is a card inside Momentum, not a Home Screen widget.

## Make room for the facts you use

### Add and arrange cards

1. Open **Progress**.
2. Touch and hold a Progress widget to open its menu.
3. Tap **Edit Progress**.
4. Tap **Add Widget**.
5. Select the widget you want to add. It starts at **Small** size after your
   existing cards.
6. Drag a card to change its place in the dashboard.
7. Drag a card's resize handle inward for **Small** or outward for **Medium**.
8. Tap **Done Editing Widgets** when you finish arranging cards.

You can select the same widget type again in **Add Widget**. The new card
starts with default settings; it does not copy another card's settings.

### Make a quick change

1. Touch and hold the card you want to change.
2. Select **Small** or **Medium** to resize it, or tap **Remove Widget** to
   remove it from the dashboard.

In **Edit Progress**, you can also use each card's remove control.

Keep at least one card. Removing every card leaves no menu to reopen
**Edit Progress**. If you remove them all while editing, use **Add Widget**
to add a card before tapping **Done Editing Widgets**.

### Configure Running or Strength

The **Running** type uses a title that reflects its activity and metric, such
as **Running Distance**. The **Strength** type appears as **Strength Progress**.

1. Touch and hold the card you want to configure.
2. Tap **Customize Widget**.
3. For a **Running** widget, select **Activity** and choose **Running**,
**Cycling**, or **Swimming**. A **Strength** widget shows the fixed
   **Scope** value **All Strength**.
4. Select the settings you want to change.
5. Tap **Done** to save this card's settings, or **Cancel** to leave them
   unchanged.

| Setting | What to choose |
| --- | --- |
| **Size** | **Small** or **Medium**. |
| **Metric** | **Distance**, **Duration**, or **Sessions**, where supported. |
| **Time Period** | The date window for this card. |
| **Each Bar** | The time interval each chart bar represents. |
| **Calculation** | **Total**, **Average**, or **Best**, where supported. |
| **Comparison** | **None** or **Previous Period**. |

## Keep the view you chose

Progress saves each successful dashboard change on this device.
**Done Editing Widgets** ends arrangement mode; it does not wait to save all
your changes at once.

Customization changes only the selected card. Removing a Progress widget
removes the card, not your recorded workouts.

## When a change needs another look

**Customize Widget** appears only for **Running** and **Strength** types.
Available metrics depend on the activity. **Sessions** supports **Total**
only, and the available **Each Bar** values depend on **Time Period**.
Changing a setting can adjust another choice to keep it compatible.

At accessibility text sizes, cards display at **Medium** size even if you
saved **Small**. Drag resizing does not change their saved size in that view.

Adding or resizing a card does not supply missing workout facts. A planned
value is not a substitute for an unavailable recorded result.

If a widget change fails to save, Progress restores the previous dashboard
configuration. Finish edit mode if it is open, then tap **Try Again** in
**Progress Couldn’t Refresh**. This refreshes Progress; make the change again
if you still want it.
