# Set up your Progress dashboard

Progress works best when it reflects the way you train. Start with Momentum's
four default cards, then arrange, resize, and tune the dashboard so the
recorded work you care about is easy to see.

## Your starting dashboard

A new dashboard starts with **Weekly Momentum**, **Training Time**,
**Running**, and **Strength**.

- **Weekly Momentum** compares scheduled workouts with recorded completion and
  lists additional training separately.
- **Training Time**, **Running**, and **Strength** summarize recorded facts for
  their displayed time periods.

A Progress widget is a card inside **Progress**. It is not a Home Screen
widget.

## Shape the dashboard around your training

1. Open **Progress**.
2. Touch and hold any Progress widget, then tap **Edit Progress**.
3. Use the remove control on a widget to remove it.
4. Tap **Add Widget**, then select the Progress widget you want to add.
5. Drag a Progress widget to change its position. Drag its resize handle to
   switch between the available sizes.
6. Tap **Done Editing Widgets** to finish arranging the dashboard.
7. To tune **Running** or **Strength**, touch and hold that Progress widget,
   then tap **Customize Widget**.
8. For **Running**, select **Activity**, then choose **Running**, **Cycling**,
or **Swimming**. **Strength** shows the fixed **Scope** value
   **All Strength**.
9. Select the other settings shown for that widget, then tap **Done**.

## A view that stays useful

After each successful change, Progress keeps the order, sizes, and supported
settings you chose. Your most useful cards stay within reach, while
**Explore Progress** remains available below them for a closer look.

## What stays fixed and factual

**Customize Widget** is available only for **Running** and **Strength**. The
available metrics and calculations depend on the widget's activity and metric,
and the available **Each Bar** values depend on its time period.

Progress uses recorded facts. Planned values remain prescriptions, even when
**Weekly Momentum** compares a scheduled workout with recorded completion. If
a required recorded fact is missing, Progress shows it as unavailable instead
of zero.

If Progress cannot save a widget change, it restores the previous dashboard
configuration. Tap **Try Again** in the **Progress Couldn't Refresh** notice.

This setup changes Progress widgets inside Momentum. It does not change Home
Screen widgets.
