# Manage Workout Sync (WorkoutKit)

Send compatible upcoming workouts to Apple's Workout app without moving
your training history. Open **Plan > Settings > Workout Sync** to enable
export, review what Apple accepted, or turn it off. An enabled setting is
not proof that a workout reached Apple Watch.

## Check the workout and access

Use Momentum on iPhone or iPad. Workout Sync needs available Apple workout
scheduling support, scheduling permission, and a compatible upcoming workout
to export. You can review the
setting without a compatible workout; enabling it alone may not prompt for
permission.

The scope includes eligible workouts from all active training plans and
standalone schedules, not just one selected plan. New preferences default
to enabled; a previous opt-out stays off. Apple controls scheduling access
and capacity.

Strength stays in Momentum: WorkoutKit cannot represent its sets, reps, load,
and rest. For endurance, the workout's structure, goals, and alerts must all
be supported. A supported sport name alone is not enough.

## Choose what to send or remove

### Enable or check export

1. Open **Plan**.
2. Open **Settings** from Plan's options menu.
3. Tap **Workout Sync**.
4. Tap **Enable Workout Sync** if it appears.
5. If **Allow Access** appears, tap it to request Apple's scheduling permission.
6. Review Apple's request when it appears.

Momentum requests permission while the app is active and an eligible upcoming
workout is available, not during a background check. If **Review Workout Sync**
appears, review the broader all-plan scope before choosing
**Enable Workout Sync** or **Turn Off**.

### Review the upcoming workouts

1. Tap **Scheduled Workouts**, **Waiting for Space**, or **Not Supported**.
2. Open a workout to review its dated Momentum details.
3. Return to **Workout Sync**.
4. Tap **Sync Now** when available to attempt another export check.

**Not Yet Scheduled** also appears when compatible upcoming workouts have not
been accepted. Opening a review row does not start a workout.

### Turn export off

1. Turn off **Sync Scheduled Workouts**, or tap **Turn Off** when that action
   appears instead.
2. Review **Turn Off Workout Sync?**.
3. Tap **Turn Off** to confirm, or **Cancel** to keep the setting.

Momentum saves the opt-out and attempts to remove its upcoming exports from
Apple's Workout app. Removal does not delete Momentum plans or history,
Apple Health workout history, or another app's workouts.

## Read acceptance rather than assume delivery

**Scheduled Workouts** contains upcoming items whose workout content and date
match Apple's reported schedule. It does not confirm that a Watch displayed
the workout or that you performed it.

**Waiting for Space** contains workouts beyond Apple's scheduling capacity.
**Not Supported** identifies incompatible workouts.
**Not Yet Scheduled** contains otherwise eligible items without confirmed
acceptance, including failed additions.

A completed export check is not a guarantee that every future workout will
arrive. Review the individual group and any failure message.

## Resolve the state you see

- If **Access Needed** offers **Open Settings**, use it to review Momentum's
scheduling permission, then return and tap **Try Again** when offered.
- **Restricted** and **Unavailable** describe current scheduling conditions.
You can keep planning in Momentum while export is unavailable.
- If an export or schedule load fails, tap **Try Again**. Do not recreate
the workout or delete history to repair export.
- For **Waiting for Space**, retry after space becomes available. Repeated
  requests cannot guarantee additional capacity.
- For **Not Supported**, read the workout's compatibility explanation before
changing it. Send strength workouts through Momentum's companion delivery,
  not WorkoutKit.
- If **Turn Off Incomplete** appears, tap **Retry Removal**. If **Open Settings**
appears there, restore scheduling access before retrying removal. The
opt-out remains saved while cleanup is pending; do not assume all exports
  are gone until cleanup completes.

Workout Sync does not run Momentum's strength player. It is also separate
from Apple Health import, companion delivery, HealthKit workout mirroring,
and account uploads.
