# Configure strength sets

Warm-up and working sets do different jobs. Open an exercise in **Build
Workout** to add each kind, adjust a single set or all sets with the same role,
and choose rest between sets. You can keep a gradual warm-up separate from a
consistent working prescription.

## Start with an exercise

Use Momentum on an iPhone or iPad. Start with a strength workout draft that
already contains an exercise. This guide changes planned sets before you
train; it does not record performed sets.

## Give each set its job

### Add the sets you need

1. Select the exercise in **Build Workout**.
2. Tap **Add Set**.
3. Select **Warm-up Set** or **Working Set**.
4. Select the new set to open **Set**.

A new set starts with values copied from an existing set. Check those values
before saving, especially when adding the first warm-up set: Momentum does
not automatically choose a lighter load.

### Change one set or a whole role

5. Tap **Reps**.
6. Select the planned rep count.
7. Tap the load field, if the exercise offers one.
8. Select the planned load.
9. Tap **Save Changes** to open the save menu.
10. Select the scope you want:
    - **Save This Set** changes only the open set.
    - **Apply to All Warm-up Sets** copies this prescription to every warm-up
      set in this exercise.
    - **Apply to All Working Sets** copies this prescription to every working
      set in this exercise.

The role-wide choice appears only when that role has more than one set.
It copies the whole prescription, not just the field you changed.

Read the exercise's load description before selecting a value. **Total load**
means one combined load; **Load per implement** means the load for each
implement; **Weight stack** means the machine or cable stack value. A
bodyweight exercise can instead show **Added load** or **Assistance**.

To leave the set unchanged before choosing a save scope, tap **Cancel Editing**.

### Choose rest for this exercise

11. Tap **Rest Between Sets** in the exercise's set list.
12. Select the rest duration.

That rest duration applies between this exercise's sets. Configure another
exercise separately if it needs different rest.

### Remove an extra set

1. Select the set you want to remove.
2. Tap **Save Changes**.
3. Select **Delete Set**.

**Delete Set** appears only when the exercise has another set. You cannot
remove its last remaining set.

## Check the set list

The draft now shows the warm-up and working sets you configured, with rest for
this exercise. Review both roles before returning to the workout.

Saving a set updates the draft. It does not start training or confirm a
schedule. If the enclosing builder offers **Review Workout**, that action
returns the draft to the surrounding review so you can finish that task.

## Keep the changes where you intend

Applying a prescription to all working sets leaves warm-up sets and other
exercises unchanged. Applying it to all warm-up sets leaves working sets
unchanged.

If you applied the wrong values, reopen the affected draft sets and enter the
values you want. If you removed a set, use **Add Set** to create a replacement,
then check its copied values.

The workout duration is an estimate based on its sets and rest, not a measured
training time. These planned values remain separate from what you later
record.
