Train without a Momentum account
You can start training without signing in. On your iPhone or iPad, create a training plan, build and run a strength workout, and review your recorded training without a Momentum account. Successful local saves stay on that device.
An account and Apple Health are separate choices
In Settings, Momentum Account shows Signed Out when you are not signed in. That does not prevent local training.
Apple Health is a separate Settings destination. You can choose whether to let Momentum read available Apple Health workouts and metrics. This permission does not sign you into Momentum.
You do not need Apple Health import to create a training plan or log a strength workout locally. Without the relevant permission or source data, imported workouts and Health metrics may be missing. Missing data does not mean you did no training.
Start with the training you want to do
Some days start with a schedule; others start with one workout. Without an account, you can:
- Create a training plan and use its dated schedule in Plan.
- Build a strength workout and record your sets in Momentum.
- Review completed and ended-early workouts in your history.
- Use Progress to see summaries of the training facts on your device.
Momentum keeps successful local saves when you close and reopen the app. Saving a strength-workout result does not wait for another device to confirm receipt.
Local saves stay with this device
A local save is not a backup or confirmation that another device has your training. If you remove device-only data or lose access to the device, you may lose access to those records. Before replacing or clearing a device, check that the training data you need is available elsewhere.
By contrast, account cloud sync requires sign-in. Sync Center shows Sign In Required when you are signed out; it does not report a failure to save your local workout.
Connecting Apple Health does not establish a transfer of your Momentum training plans or detailed strength records to another device. Apple Health workouts and Momentum's local training data are not interchangeable backups.
