Use Home Screen widgets
Keep your next workout or recent training within a glance. Add a Momentum widget from your iPhone or iPad Home Screen, then choose the view and size that suit you.
Choose what you want to see
Open Momentum on your iPhone or iPad before adding a widget. Each type comes in small and medium sizes.
| Widget in the gallery | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Today or Up Next | The next scheduled workout from today onward that you have not fulfilled. |
| Weekly Momentum | Completion of scheduled workouts for the Monday-through-Sunday week, with additional training separate. |
| Running Distance | Recorded running distance over the last 7 days. |
| Training Time | Recorded training time and its activity mix over the last 30 days. |
| Strength | Recorded strength-workout counts over the last 30 days. |
You can add a widget before you have training data. Schedule a workout to give Today or Up Next something to show; recorded workouts populate the training summaries.
A Home Screen widget sits outside Momentum. Its content settings are fixed. Customizing a Progress widget inside Progress does not change these views.
Add a widget to your Home Screen
- Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
- Tap Edit.
- Tap Add Widget.
- Select Momentum in the widget gallery.
- Choose the widget type and small or medium size.
- Tap Add Widget.
- Drag the widget to where you want it.
- Tap Done.
Open the training behind the summary
Tap a workout shown in Today or Up Next to open its planned-workout details. This opens the workout; it does not start or complete it.
Tap Weekly Momentum, Running Distance, Training Time, or Strength to open Progress for a closer look at your recorded training.
When a widget looks empty or out of date
No active plan means the widget has no scheduled entries to show. Rest day means it has no eligible workout from today onward. Neither message says whether you trained today.
Training summaries use recorded facts, not planned targets. An unavailable distance or duration does not mean zero training.
If you see Unlock to view workouts or Unlock to view progress, unlock your device normally and open Momentum. Protected data can remain inaccessible before the first unlock after a restart.
If you see Open Momentum to refresh, or the view no longer matches your training, open Momentum and check Plan or Progress. Opening the app requests a refresh, but the Home Screen may not update immediately. A failed refresh can leave the previous view visible without an out-of-date label.
Home Screen widgets do not update continuously during a live workout. Do not delete training data to resolve a delayed widget.
