Feature availability
You can build a strength workout without a Momentum account or Apple Health access. Imported history needs Apple Health access, while Progress needs recorded facts for the values it shows. This reference covers those conditions for the iPhone and iPad tasks linked here.
What each task needs
| Task | Condition |
|---|---|
| Build a strength workout | No Momentum account or Apple Health access is required to author the workout. Available target and load controls depend on the selected exercise. |
| View imported workouts in Plan | Apple Health must be available, and Momentum needs access to eligible workout data. You can use Plan without connecting Apple Health. |
| Read training values in Progress | Each metric needs its recorded facts. A workout can appear even when its distance or duration is unavailable. |
| Use Customize Widget | This action is available for the Running and Strength Progress widgets. Other cards do not offer the same settings. |
Choose the access you need
Apple Health access is optional. It adds eligible imported history; it is not a prerequisite for planning a strength workout.
Granting access does not create missing data. An empty import list does not, by itself, establish that you denied permission: there may be no eligible workouts for Momentum to read.
What availability does not tell you
An available Progress widget does not guarantee that every metric has data. Momentum leaves missing required facts unavailable rather than filling them from planned targets or substituting zero.
These conditions cover the linked iPhone and iPad workflows, not a complete device-support matrix or a promise that every device offers the same features.
