Vary workout goals by date
Give each date the planned goal it needs. In a new repeating workout's scheduling review, open Schedule, choose Goal Schedule > Varies by Date, then use Set Goals by Date before adding the workout.
Start with a repeating-workout draft
Prepare a workout using the scheduling guide. Choose Repeat in an active training plan, but stop before the final Add action.
Creating a new schedule with Varies by Date requires Momentum Pro access. If Momentum asks you to sign in or choose a subscription, return to your draft and tap Add when you are ready. Purchasing or restoring does not add the workouts for you.
Use an endurance workout with one time, distance, or energy goal. Interval workouts, strength workouts, open goals, and combined pool-swim distance and time goals do not offer this date-specific editor.
Give each date its goal
- Open Schedule from the workout review.
- Choose Goal Schedule > Varies by Date.
- Open Set Goals by Date.
- Select the date you want to adjust.
- Set its goal value using the displayed time, distance, or energy controls. Keep the same goal type across the dates; units can change where offered.
- Tap Done to return the value to the draft.
- Review the other dates and adjust their goals as needed.
- Return to the workout review.
- Tap Add Run, Add Ride, or Add Swim for the selected activity.
Keep the goals with the scheduled dates
The final Add action saves the goal schedule and its planned workouts on this device. Done in a goal editor updates only the draft.
Each date carries its planned value. These goals do not record completed training or predict what you will achieve.
You can still view and follow an existing schedule, record workouts, and make ordinary base-workout or individual-date edits without a subscription. Set Goals by Date is for a new schedule, not a saved schedule's goal table.
Recheck goals when the dates change
If you change the repeating schedule or receiving training plan, review the date list again. Dates that remain keep their valid goals. New dates start with the preceding goal, or the workout's original goal if there is no preceding value.
Choosing Same Every Workout clears the per-date edits. Choosing Varies by Date again starts from the workout's original goal; it does not restore those edits. Changing to a workout without a supported goal also resets variation.
For dates generated beyond the last goal you set, Momentum carries that last goal forward. It does not invent a progression.
If Add is unavailable, check that the schedule has dates and each listed goal has a valid value of the workout's goal type. If a save alert says the training plan changed, reopen scheduling before trying again.
Continue planning your training
- Schedule a workout once or repeatedly for the full setup and date rules.
- Change scheduled workouts to adjust a workout already on the calendar.
- Understand planned and performed values to distinguish goals from recorded results.
