Match imported and planned workouts

Use Match Workout or Review Match in an imported workout's details to choose an eligible planned workout. When a link needs review, you can change or unlink it there without deleting the imported workout or schedule.

Start with a match you can review

On iPhone or iPad, open Plan > Settings > Apple Health and select a row under Imported Workouts. Use the steps below when its details offer Match Workout or Review Match.

To make or change a match, you need an eligible planned workout. Matching is optional: an imported workout can remain in your history without a plan link.

Make a new match

  1. In the imported workout's About section, tap Match Workout.
  2. Under Planned Workouts, check the sport and date of each option.
  3. Tap the planned workout that belongs with this activity.

After saving the match, Momentum returns to the workout details.

  1. Open the imported workout and tap Review Match.
  2. Read Current Match.
  3. Under Choose Another Workout, tap the correct option. If the current option is eligible and shows Confirm, tap that row to keep it.

In Review Match, tap Unlink Match under Current Match.

You can also open Plan > Settings > Apple Health, tap the message showing how many workouts need review, and use Unlink Match for the association you want to remove. This review list can include links whose imported workout no longer appears in the regular list.

Keep the plan and the record distinct

A saved match connects imported history to one planned occurrence. The detail can show the planned workout and schedule alongside imported results, with a Completed status. That association does not confirm that you performed every prescribed step or reached every target.

Changing a match changes the association, not the recorded results or the authored schedule. Unlinking leaves the imported workout and planned workout intact.

When no suitable match appears

The picker offers nearby, uncompleted workouts of the same activity: strength, run, bike, or swim. A workout already fulfilled by Momentum history or linked to another import is not an available alternative.

If No Compatible Workouts appears, leave the activity unmatched unless an appropriate option becomes available. A missing match does not mean the activity failed or its history was lost.

Momentum can also create a match automatically when a recorded plan identity or a conservative sport-and-date check identifies one unambiguous association. Competing claims can remain unresolved; a changed or deleted source can leave a link needing review.

If Couldn't Update Match appears, tap OK, reopen the review, and check the current association before trying again.

Unlinking tells Momentum not to automatically recreate that pairing. You can select it again deliberately. Removing the whole imported cache also clears remembered matching choices, so it is not a substitute for unlinking.
