Understand Weekly Momentum

Weekly Momentum compares scheduled workouts with recorded completion for a calendar week and keeps additional training separate. It helps you see what the week contains, not judge your effort or fitness.

A calendar week, not a rolling total

The Progress widget shows the current calendar week. That is different from Last 7 Days on a configurable card: Weekly Momentum follows calendar-week boundaries rather than counting back seven days from today.

Open Weekly Momentum in Progress to see its date range. Use Previous week to look back and Next week to return toward the current week. You cannot move beyond the current week.

Adherence and additional training

Adherence shows how many scheduled workouts have an established recorded completion out of the scheduled workouts in the displayed week. The total includes upcoming days, so it is not a count of workouts due by today.

Each scheduled workout counts once when Momentum can establish its completion. An ended-early Momentum workout does not count as completed here.

Additional counts recorded training that starts within the week and does not match one of that week's scheduled workouts. It stays separate from adherence rather than filling in an unrelated scheduled workout.

Scheduled completion belongs to the scheduled date. A linked workout near a week boundary can therefore contribute to that scheduled week's completion count.

Plans and training days

Plans breaks scheduled completion down by training plan. Select a date in Training Days to see its entries:

  • Scheduled distinguishes Planned workouts from Completed ones.
  • Other Training lists additional recorded workouts with their sources.

These are different views of the week's facts, not extra points added to adherence.

Up Next

For the current week, Up Next shows a not-yet-completed scheduled workout dated today or later in the week. It follows schedule order. It does not turn an earlier unfinished day into a catch-up recommendation.

Historical weeks do not have an Up Next workout. When minutes appear there, they are planned duration, not recorded training time.

Leave room for missing context

Apple Health access is optional. Allow Momentum to read Apple Health workouts if you want imported workouts included. An imported workout counts toward scheduled completion only when Momentum has established a valid link to that scheduled workout. Similar timing or activity alone is not enough.

The counts reflect the records available to Momentum, not everything you may have done. A recorded workout can count even when its duration is missing; Other Training shows Duration unavailable, not zero. A visible count does not establish that every workout or measurement is available.

No workouts planned on the widget, or No plan in detail, means that week has no scheduled workouts. Recorded training can still appear as additional work. Likewise, No Training Recorded for a day describes the available records, not your effort.

Adherence is a workout count, not an estimate of fitness, recovery, or readiness. Apple Activity rings remain separate; they do not increase this count. There is no need to read an unfinished count as a direction to make up training.
