Use Momentum in ChatGPT
Connect Momentum to ChatGPT so you can talk through your training with your plans and workouts at hand. When ChatGPT suggests a plan change, you review it in the chat and choose what to apply.
Before you begin
You need a Momentum account with a subscription that includes ChatGPT access, and ChatGPT on the web with an account that can add apps.
Connect and review changes
- In ChatGPT, add the Momentum app.
- On the Momentum sign-in page, sign in with your Momentum account.
- Check the access listed, then select Allow access.
- Ask ChatGPT about your training, such as what's planned this week.
- When ChatGPT suggests plan changes, check each change on the Review changes card. Edited workouts show Before and After; a new plan shows a preview. The card shows when the suggestion expires.
- Under Changes, keep the changes you want selected, then select Apply selected changes.
- If ChatGPT asks for confirmation before applying, check that it matches what you selected, then confirm.
After you apply, the card shows Changes applied and Momentum saves the change to your account. Your Momentum devices get it on their next account cloud sync. To reverse it, select Undo changes on the same card.
What you can see in ChatGPT
ChatGPT can show your training as cards in the conversation:
- A training plan calendar, one week at a time. Use the arrows to move between weeks, open a workout for its details, and select Expand for a larger view.
- A planned or recorded workout with its details.
- A list of recorded workouts. Open one for its details, then select All workouts to go back.
- Programs. Open a Program to see it week by week, then select Start this program to ask ChatGPT to suggest a training plan from it.
The suggested plan appears on a Review changes card like any other suggestion.
Understand ChatGPT's access
The Momentum sign-in page lists what ChatGPT asks for. View training data lets it read your plans and workouts. Manage training plans lets it change your training plans. Record workouts lets it update workouts in your Momentum history.
Training plan changes
Plan changes start as suggestions and change nothing until they're applied. Usually you apply them from the card, but ChatGPT can also apply a suggestion for you. When it does, ChatGPT should ask you first. Before you confirm, check that the changes it lists are the ones you want.
You can't apply a suggestion after its card shows Expired, after the training plan changes, or after you start a workout it would change. In each case, ask ChatGPT for a fresh suggestion. Undo changes works only while the training plan is unchanged since you applied and you haven't started any of the changed workouts. If undo isn't available, ask ChatGPT to suggest the reverse change.
Recorded workout changes
ChatGPT's changes to recorded workouts take effect right away, without a Review changes card or Undo changes. ChatGPT can replace a recorded strength workout's title, notes, exercises, and sets, and link a recorded workout to a planned workout or remove that link. Your Momentum devices get these updates on their next account cloud sync.
To keep a way back, ask ChatGPT to show the workout before it changes it. ChatGPT can restore earlier details only if they're still in the conversation.
Disconnect
To disconnect, sign in to your Momentum account in a web browser, go to Connected apps, and select Remove next to the ChatGPT connection. Momentum access ends immediately, and changes you already applied stay in your account. Removing the connection doesn't remove training details already shared in your ChatGPT conversations.
